Marshwog

The Marshwog are a sentient frog like species of unknown origin native to south Onaria.  They are very numerous and inhabit a vast swamp stretching over a quarter of south Onaria.   Marshwog mostly live in independent communities spread throughout the swamps and tend not to identify as part of a larger community or national entity. 

The relatively few imperial Marshwog are centered in the city state of Mukkgalore, an empire with limited ability to project its power outside its territory.  However it is ideally situated to control most of the thoroughfares between south and north Onaria.  As the imperial Marshwog are highly territorial and hostile to outsiders, this makes traveling through the swamps highly dangerous and effectively cuts off the two halves of the continent.
