Myrmidon

Species of sentient ant people native to southern Onaria.  Individual Myrmidon are born into a complex many layered caste system, each caste is physiologically different from the others.  There are no imposed hierarchies withing Myrmidon civilization, instead each individual is born with the knowledge and understanding needed to complete their roll in the collective.

Myrmidon are intelligent but very different from humans or other sapient species, they mostly lack personal ego or ambition and will willingly sacrifice themselves for the greater whole, they tend to be very strait forward and will only invade or attack when their natural area of influence is expanding or resources are scarce.  They fight through sheer overwhelming numbers and tend to be lacking in strategy or tactics, despite this they have a reputation for being incredibly effective warriors as they are many times stronger than most species.
